A little dan a few merupakan bagian dari jenis determiner. Determiner adalah bentuk kata yang diletakkan di depan kata benda (noun) untuk membuat batas pada kata itu sendiri.

A little memiliki arti sedikit atau beberapa. Kita menggunakan kata a little untuk menyatakan jumlah yang sedikit/ beberapa pada kata-kata benda yang tidak dapat di hitung atau disebut uncountable noun. Cotoh kata benda yang tidak dapat dihitung seperti uang (money), gula (sugar), air (water), dan lain sebagainya.

A few untuk menyatakan jumlah yang sedikit/ beberapa pada kata-kata benda yang dapat dihitung atau disebut countable noun. Cotoh kata benda yang dapat dihitung seperti buku (books) dan mobil (car).
